Hi Louise, my daughter is three and weighs almost 50 pounds.  I have battled her weight from 10 months on, when she weighed 27 pounds.  I believe it is the Dex. she takes and not her diet.  This next round at the doctor she will be FINALLY (after begging) be put on the cortef to see if she slims up.  She was almost 10 pounds at birth, but gained weight normally until we switched her endo.  She was initially on pred. then went to the Dex.  It was then the massive weight gain started and the finger pointing began as to what I was feeding her.  Our last visit (and a move to Cali with another doctor) I was finally able to convince that it just MIGHT be the med’s and not me.  That was of course after a 100 dollar visit (which ins. did not pay for) from the nutritionist who told me what I already knew.  HER DIET IS FINE.  I am hoping your baby will slim down, I am sure he will, sounds as if everyone else’s kids are just thin and fine.  Ignore the comments (even though they are innocent) and just smile it away.  BELIEVE ME.  I hear about her LARGE CHEEKS and comments like, ooohhhh, I just love fat babies!  Look how fat that baby is................la la la.  Smile it away..............smile it away, smile it away.  Or like Dori from Nemo says:  "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming".  :)

Blessings, Kaye
