JanetDHi all,
My Olivia (5) starts kindergarten on July 21 (year round school schedule, same number of days, just more breaks). After attending kindergarten registration and finding out that girls are not allowed to wear pierced earrings in phys ed (logical), I figured I had better find out what the policy was concerning MedicAlert bracelets. I emailed the assistant principal. She in turn talked to the school nurse who said "MedicAlert bracelets should never be removed." I think she is going to be wonderful to work with J
The assistant principal indicated that I needed to talk with the Phys Ed teachers. I am assuming that since the school nurse has made her opinion known, then Olivia will be able to wear her bracelet at all times. However, there is still a safety issue to be concerned about. Do any of you have any suggestions that I can give to the Phys Ed teachers? I have purchased a sport-band type of bracelet, but it is just too big for her little wrist. The one thought I have come up with was to have her wear a sweat band over the bracelet to prevent it from getting caught on something or someone.
Warm regards,
Janet
