Weight Gain, Help Please

My daughter was diagnosed with CAH (late onset) about a year and a half ago at age 7.  It was diagnosed after we thought she was going into premature puberty.  She is not disfigured at all, it was detected by a blood test that she was a borderline case for treatment and with the advice of a third party (family doctor) we began treatment.  She has been taking cortef & florinef since then and has experienced extreme weight gain.  She is now 9 and I’m sickened because she’s starting to dislike her body image even though I tell her she’s beautiful.  Kids at school are starting to be cruel as well.  I express my concern at the endocrinologist at every appointment and they admitted at the last visit that her growth has stalled and weight has continued to increase.  They have decreased the cortef now a bit but I’m still so concerned.  We eat right and exercise regularly so that is not a factor.  I am petite and at 34 my 9 year old weighs just 25lbs less that me.

Will this get better?  Can anyone offer me support or inspiration?
