New to Board with a question
Jun. 1st, 2004   4:27pm

I am new to the board and wish that this kind of thing was around 20 years ago when I was diagnosed.  My diagnosis was partial CAH when my parents noticed I was developing acne at the age of 6.  I was adopted at 3 months old and have no idea if I had any signs of the disease as an infant.

My question is it possible for a person with partical CAH to never have to take medicine.  My mother has always pushed me to take my medicine.  As an adult, I hated the side effects of the prednisone and never took it.  A few months ago I fessed up to my doctor who ordered blood tests and these tests came back normal.  I have never seen an endocrinologist as an adlut.  My pediactric endo. stopped seeing me at the age of 18.  I don’t know what to look for as side effects of not taking my medicine.

Any information is greatly appreciated!
