hi janet d. i completely understand your concern over this topic.  i am wondering about something, though. my son is just 5 months old (swcah) and has had 4 ear infections and 3 stomach bugs. i know that his frequency of illness is not related to his CAH. my 4 year old (non cah) was the same way. had tubes in her ears at 6 months and was sick with fevers ALL the time. neither one ever in daycare. it was just bad luck and we got through it with her , as i am confident we will with him. my 2 year old is NEVER sick. no ear infections. its just luck sometimes, in my opinion. anyway,  i have given him the shot on 2 occasions. one when he vomited to the point of lethargy and pallor and the other when he had a fever of 102 and threw up right after i gave him a triple dose of cortef. he has been hospitalized for the stomach bug i just mentioned. would you recommend (or do you think your endo would recommend) me giving him the injection every one of these times. that would be around 8 times in the last 3 months??? even if he was acting fine??? i, too, would like to prevent crisis. but, out of those illnesses, only one truly presented or turned into a crisis. just wanted to get your thoughts.... thank you!
