There are times when my 5-year-0ld will lose control -- in situations where I would feel it is normal for her to be mad, frustrated, and/or angry. The key thing with my daughter is that there are times when she just can’t get it back under control and I must hold her, usually about 15 minutes or so.  As she is getting older these episodes are becoming much less frequent (not even once a month).

I often debate with myself if this is just her, related to her abandonment and adoption, or related to her CAH, or any combination of the before mentioned topics.

I do know of two specific situations where she lost control and I can with almost certainty relate it to the heat and  her CAH. Once when she was 2 1/2 and we were at the zoo -- a little AC and soda (with sugar!) did the trick. Then last summer when she was 4 1/2 a similar situation happened when we were at a marina in Florida.
