re: teenager and hair

My son is only 9 so we haven’t yet gone through some of the "teenage" issues yet.  But I can say that both he, my 11 1/2 year old daughter (non-CAH) and I are fairly hairy.  Especially my son.  He is conscious of it.  They both are.  My son has complained that some of the older kids on the bus tease him about his unibrow.  So I went and got one of those things you see on T.V. that is sort of like shaving but not really.  They make it for men and women and it is for grooming those sort of areas.  We have gotten rid of the unibrow and the hairy upper lip for both of them.  They feel so much better about themselves and are no longer teased.  The hairiness is definitely part of the CAH and I personally believe it also is for the carriers (although there is no proof of that).

I commend you for being tuned into your daughter and her feelings.  This is such a tough age so I hope all goes well for both of you.

Take care

Judy
