With both my kids with CAH I used a leather "Jesus" bracelet (the kind with colored beads used to illustrate the plan of salvation) for a month to see if they would keep it on and not lose it. That was when they were about two or three. They kept it on and so we went ahead and got the Medical Alert bracelet for them. They’ve had them ever since. We’ve replaced Jonathan’s recently because his old was so worn, but the new one was coated in a clear plastic that scratches really easy (real smart for a kid’s bracelet [<-sarcasm]).
