We too stopped the liquid sodium chloride around 9 mos of age. Our daughter (now 7 years old) takes florinef daily and the endo said she will get the salt she needs in her diet just allow her to salt food to her taste. She goes through phases of really craving the salt (pouring it in her hand and licking it) to just barely salting the food. If the salt shaker is out she will salt most foods, even yogurt. She loves when I get a margarita because she licks all the salt off the cup. Her older brother jokes that he is going to buy her a salt lick (like horses have) for Christmas. I think once kids can control the salt they will take in what their body needs. Her labs and blood pressure are always right on track.
