Susan A.I took Dex during my pregnancy because I had to have it for my CAH. I didn’t even know at the time (almost 18 years ago) that I could have an affected child (shows you how much the docs let me know about this condition - or knew themselves). Anyway..... Dex does cross via breastmilk (and I nursed for two years too) but you know - my daughter has always been extremely healthy... no allergies, no illnesses besides a cold, much taller than I am (I’m 5’2" and she’s 5’8") The only thing that I think may have showed up because of the steroids is that she slept terrible for several years (probably the whole time I nursed actually) and she also had a sore under her neck folds (when an infant) that was terrible to get to heal. She was pretty chubby too the first three months or so. (though she’s grown up to be 5’8" and 135 lbs - a beautiful girl.)
I don’t know... I’d probably try to take something that didn’t cross in the breastmilk if I did it again. My daughter has had a bone age done and a 17OHP test done and they were both normal - she doesn’t have CAH.
