SandraMary Ann,
Get another opinion quick. Growing hair at 3 months is not a good sign. Contact the CARES Foundation for more info. at www.caresfoundation.org . If he is large for his age that is also not a good sign when combined with CAH. True that some NC CAH kids don’t require treatment but I would say hair at 3 months and rapid growth are signs that that he does need treatment. Without it he could be susceptible to crisis, rapid growth, early puberty, short stature and some other problems. I have 4 boys and my youngest two have SVCAH.
He will pass on his gene so his children will be at least a carrier of CAH. If your son marries a carrier then the offspring will have a greater chance of having CAH. Once treated though, it’s not bad especially if he is not a SW. One less thing to worry about.
Good luck,
Sandra
