I would say the two of you are demonstrating extremes. While I oppose medically unnecessary, cosmetic, genital surgery on small children, in some cases there is a medical necessity, and ultimately if the girl, once old enough to make the decision wants to have the surgery, then that’s her right and she should be supported.

Anyway, this is steering into subjects that need to stay in the Controveries board and not here. The decision to have the surgery is a troubling one and while some of us may disagree with it, we should still show some compassion to the parents who had to make the decision, and not pester them after the deeds been done.
