CWithout my asking the question, my doctor took back what he said before about ruling out CAH, despite my normal acth stim tests. He has decided I need to have samples taken outside the pituitary. If one side has more acth than the other, this will tell him whether it is the tumor secreting it or the gland itself. They will also do an acth stim test during the procedure, testing both my arm and the blood around my pituitary. Evidently this will verify that it isn’t ectopic acth. My cortisol was a bit elevated in my last labs, so he is leaning more towards cushings, but because of my pregnanetriole level he isn’t ready to rule out anything. I feel pretty comfortable with this approach. The test sure will be awful though! They insert a catheder through the groin, up through the heart and jugular, and finally into the pituitary. I am definitely asking for major sedation!
Anyways, just wanted to give you all an update :) I’ll be back I’m sure if it turns out not to be cushings...
