Thanks to everyone for all the info.  I think I understand why there is controversy now, a little.  My daughter is having the Total Urogenital Mobilization, but nothing will be done to her clitoris.  According to the doctor this is something she has to have, medically.  As a mother I understand why everyone is so passionate about this subject.  Without knowing all of the people here on this board understand or have experienced what I am going thru, I would feel totally alone.  Thanks again.
