aimeeI’m sorry that the staff was so indifferent. A little pat on the shoulder or a little squeeze on the back of the elbow may make all the difference in the world. I have two other conditions besides CAH and the only thing that has gotten me through in dealing with all this is that the staff and the two doctors are 180 degrees from being indifferent and I’ve built up quite a wall because I’ve never found anything or anyone that has anything to do with Endocrinology safe or comforting. I have a very good Endo that is thorough about the CAH but I get the feeling that he could care less if I was there or not which makes me feel alone in dealing with the CAH except for this message board. I sometimes just want to drop off my adrenal glands for service like I drop off my car and pick them up later. Maybe, it’s because CAH and all the "sensitive issues" are never talked about and they’re trained not to connect with patients but the staff and doctors in the other two specialties broke through with their genuine warmth and concern. They look you in the eye, talk with you and not at you and they laugh/smile with you and not at you, thus making it easier to deal with lifelong medical conditions.
Better days ahead,
Aimee
