I am also a young mother. At 21, I have 2 children. My daughter also has CAH. It was so overwhelming at first. We worried about every little thing. It does get easier. The meds will become a part of everyday life, so much that you won’t even really think about it. It’s kinda like brushing your teeth. You don’t really think about it, but you do it everyday. As for adrenal crisis, it is a very dangerous thing. My daughter is 15 mo old now and we have never had an adrenal crisis. Although,we have given her Solu-Cortef injection once to prevent a crisis. My daughter is actually VERY healthy! More so than my nonCAH son. Your daughter will be a very happy, healthy, normal, and WONDERFUL baby. She really is a blessing. Enjoy every minute with her, because before you know it she will be walking, talking, and getting into all sorts of trouble. CONGRATULATIONS!
