I empathise and agree with Aimee, Last week my teenage son (SWCAH) had a gastroscopy, due to weight loss of over 40lbs in the last 9 months and being on ridiculously high dose of steroids. He was starved from the night before because no one knew what time it was to be done, I kept on about his blood sugar levels etc. Eventually late in the afternoon, he started an adrenal crisis and had to be given IV hydro and glucose. You would not believe the performance it was to get someone to give this. He was incredibly nervous as he hated the thought of something being shoved down his throat. After being told of another delay, I said we were leaving, a doctor then came out to see me. Turns out they actually had my son down for the WRONG procedure, the doctor even argued with me after having to find his notes, they agreed there had been a muddle up. My son now insists he never wants to go near another doctor or hospital again. Not ONE word of apology from anyone, or even how are things? They all knew he didn’t want it done in the first place! I do know how you feel Louise and am sorry you had to go through this! I wish there were a few endo’s that had the worries that we have.
