hi amber! congrats on the birth of your new baby! my son is a salt wasting cah’er who is now 6 months. i wont lie to you, the 1st 3 months were challenging. jessica is so right, they spit up and act so lethargic at times it is very difficult to separate what is normal and what is cah. however, once they start truly interacting with you (smiling, grabbing for things, sitting up, etc), you can definitely tell the difference. i have given joey the shot 2x. once for a stomach virus his 4 yr old (non cah) sister gave him. VERY obvious the shot was needed. he threw up about 4 times in 1 hour. lots of vomit and he got pale and difficult to arouse. the other time he had a double ear infection with a fever of 102.8. he was quite congested and spit out his stress dose (3x his normal). i thought to myself, "forget this, just give the shot so you are not worrying about whether he got the oral meds."  it worked out fine. he is adorable, meeting or exceeding ALL his milestones, and truly a great baby. on some levels, much easier than my 2 girls who dont have cah. the 2 big things to watch in your baby (in my opinion) are times of illness and growth. make sure she is growing taller (not on too much steroids or too little--both can stunt growth) and pay very close attention to her little body’s needs during times of illness. best of luck and this board is great!
