liquid hydrocortisone vs cortef tablets

hi! for any of you that have read my recent posts, i am obviously freaking out here. my son had a well child check today. he is 6 months old, barely growing and 22 POUNDS!! he honestly eats no more than his noncah sisters, who were of normal height and weight. he WAS on a teeny dose of the tab cortef (1/4 pill 3 x a day). since that small dose caused his 17ohp to be only 24, we are back on the compounded liquid (1mg 3 x day) to get a smaller dose since you cant get smaller than 1/4 of a pill. my question is this... we switched from the liquid to the pill when he was 2 months old b/c i read so many crappy things about the liquid’s instability. i got out his little growth chart and it was right after that that he began to top the charts for weight. is it possible that the pill is somehow stronger than the tab?? we actually went from a larger liquid dose back then to a smaller pill dose and began to see weight gain and lower 17ohps.  it should have been the opposite. any thoughts or experiences with this?? thanks!
