HopeHow long has she been on her meds? My son was not diagnosed until he was 1 month of age and in the midst of an adrenal crisis. From the day we came home from the hospital until he was diagnosed, he cried constantly. I didn’t sleep for more than 15 minutes at a time (with him in my arms!) that entire month. Looking back, we realized that his constant crying was an indicator that something was very wrong healthwise, and he settled down as soon as he was hospitalized and given proper medication. If she’s just begun to take her meds, perhaps her body is still trying to adjust.
As for the ’guilt’ feelings, I’m sure you are doing the best you can. I cried right along with him that first month, especially at night when I just felt I couldn’t go on for one more second. I struggled with asking my husband for help as well, but I realized that he loved his son just as much as I do, and that he was happy to participate in his care.
Take care, and best of luck to you.
