Jessica KAmber...
My SWCAH daughter was not a crying infant...however, my non-CAH daughter oh my gosh!!! We called her "princess no sleep never" She was up & crying from 10pm to 4am all the time. She was a colicy infant. Mylicon gass drops were a constant in our house. It didn’t stop the crying completely, but it was better than without it.
Our SWCAH daughter was the hungry child, the NICU nurses joked about how much she ate, they were used to premature babies taking maybe 1-2 ounces and here was my newborn taking 4-5 ounces no problem every 1-2 hours. I was attached to a breastpump while she was in the hospital & once she was home I would nurse her & then give her refriderated breast milk that I had expressed & stored while she was in the hospital, once my milk caught up with her I didn’t have to do that. Those first few weeks are tough, and you cry...alot. Don’t feel guilty, you are normal. You have a lot on your plate. You need to rely on those around you, including your husband. You may feel that since he is never home that when he is he should get to relax, honey when do YOU relax? You need to take time to get some rest as well & he may be unaware of how stressed you are. If he doesn’t know, he can’t help. I bet that if you tell him, he will help you.
Know that while this infant stage is stressful, it passes very quickly.
