hi sherry! i agree  that your voice needs to be heard. i am an ICU nurse, but worked in the ER for 3 years a while back. in our er (we DO have a peds ER as well), the best way to complain is to use the hospital’s patient advocacy program. i know for a fact those complaints were taken seriously b/c they went through the correct channels. also, do you have a letter from your peds endo stating what CAH is??  and what emergency treatment should be?? we have been to the ER twice with my swcah son. both for vomiting. we see the triage nurse, pull out our letter, and go straight back. no waiting room. as soon as the doc comes in, i state that we need to have blood drawn and a IV placed just in case. there is NO room for discussion. i am always polite, but very matter of fact. even though i can tell the peds er doc is in NO WAY familiar with cah, they have done what i asked and all turned out ok.  best of luck!!
