re: MEDICAL BRACELET:

We went with Medic-Alert.  There is a symbol on the front of her bracelet.  Her first and last name are on the back along with the phone number for emergency personnel to call and it says "Adrenal Insufficient" on the back of it.  If your local ER doesn’t have a file on your child you should ask them to create one for her so that they would already have info on her in the event that you go to the ER.

With Medic-Alert, the ER would call the number and the person on the other line would bring up your child’s file and it would have the current dosage that you child is on as well as the name of the medication.  When my daughter’s dosage changes I simply call medic-alert that same day and they make the change in their files.

So far it has worked really well for us with medic alert.  Our only problem is that the ER nurses tend to not look at the bracelet.  But the school is more comfortable knowing that she is wearing the bracelet.
