Boy this is a tough one and you are in a very difficult position.  From the sounds of it his mother is not in the picture.  Is he familiar with his doctor?  His medication has to be prescribed by someone.   It sounds like you have a good relationship with him.  Can you speak honestly with him?  If so I would recommend that you might want to suggest to him to visit this sight and do some reading for himself.  He might also want to contact the doctor that prescribes his medication and ask questions.  He is entitled to know what his condition is and what it means to him.  I commend you for caring so much.  Best of luck and please keep us all posted.
