COME ONE COME ALL - CT & NE Gathering et, al (Long)
Jul. 11th, 2004   6:57pm

It is only two weeks away and I’m starting to get excited.  I am still nailing down the final schedule with the owner of Quassy ( www.quassy.com ) Amusement park but it is looking like this:

Some people are coming in on Saturday (July 24th) and will stay in different hotels and/or camp grounds (Kettletown State Park).  I will be happy to arrange for a gathering for anyone who is coming in on Saturday so we can all get together ahead of time.  I just really need to know who is DEFINATELY going to be there and WHEN.  I know that some of you weren’t able to commit way back when but it is getting down to the wire so I need a head count for Quassy ASAP.

Sunday (July 25th) we are planning to meet at a special pavillion reserved just for CAHer’s and their family (if you want to bring a guest outside the family you will just need to cover their expenses and you should be all set).  It is located by the water/water park and near the "beach" so make sure to bring your bathing suits and towels.  There are lockers near by as well.

I need to give the owner’s of Quassy a rough head count so that he can reserve a pavillion to accomodate us all - rain or shine(as long as the park stays open).  Then we will be able to order a catered lunch to keep it simple for us and allow us to have more social time.  The price is already reasonable and I am working on seeing if they will discount us in any way.  The problem is, every time I ask him he says he needs to know roughly how many people we are talking about.  So, let me know as soon as possible.

You can access any information about Quassy by going on line to www.quassy.com . You can find directions and a description of the park.  I will give you my insight on the park and why I chose this one as opposed to a larger park:

This gathering is designed and intended to let the children get together and meet each other without the confines of a meeting room.  Those children who are old enough can enjoy the rides while their parents gather and share experiences or just chat.  The park is a very small park so everything is relatively close by allowing for you to bring the younger children to the rides and allowing the older ones to stay at the beach.  There is a life guard on duty as well.  The pavillion will allow for us a "home base" type location and everyone can check in on and off throughout the day.

We will be staying until the park closes (which I will post in my next update along with other information) allowing for maximum socializing time.

If you would like to post a message in your endo’s office or ask your endo to spread the word, that would be great!!  This way we can be sure to get the word out to anyone who (God forbid) doesn’t come to this board or who isn’t on Kelly’s - Care’s Foundation mailing list.(;>)  YES, Kelly will be there to enjoy the fun as well!!!!!!!!

PLEASE, let me know who will be there ASAP so we can count you and your family in the fun and frolic!!!!!!!!!!!!

You can email me by clicking on my name in blue at the bottom of this post, or email me at Ltorony@charter.net with any RSVP’s or questions you may have.  We are looking to meet somewhere around 11:00 a.m. so that we can give those who are traveling great distances time to get there and not miss any of the fun.  Everyone is welcome AND encouraged to attend.  Keep your fingers crossed for good weather.  I will be checking the weather forcast regularly.

We look forward to meeting all that can attend.  Talk to you soon - YEAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
