For each Parent this is an individual choice! My Granddaughter had her surgery at 13 months and has done VERY well. she was in the hospital a couple of days and she healed wonderfully. There is  some controversy on this type of surgery and some will say if it is not needed at this time to wait! I felt very strongly about doing it as soon as we could and doing it while she was young and not have any memory of it. But AGAIN this is a personal choice. To be on the safe side and feel comfortable about what you are doing I would RESEARCH and REASEARCH some more and weigh the pros and cons for myself to make a decision that YOU feel comfortable with.
