God Bless you for showing interest and concern for this child.... yes he is 17 but he is still a child. Why he knows nothing of his illness is very scary . His father obviously does know why he is medicated and chooses (or does not care too)  to discuss this with him. I agree for this young mans health that you are doing the right thing by being encouraging to educate yourself and HIM on this issue. If his father shows no interest maybe a school nurse or other relative can support you helping him. Good luck and I wish you the best in helping this child. Sincerely Cherry
