Someone to relate to...

I’m 26 and i have had CAH my whole life.  I went through research studies in Florida under Dr. Root when I was a young child.  I was wondering what kinds of things others have gone through that are close to my age.  I want to know how different my experiences were, if at all, compared to others.

At first i was hospitalized for a week at a time every month.  My blood draws were every two weeks.  I recieved a shot of buserilin every day as a child.  I also took Florinef and Cortef.  Growing up i suffered through ( and still do but not to the same effect) some very bad depressions.  My medications changed to a shot i was given intermusculatory once a month (the name escapes me right now) and dexa methsone.

Due, I’m sure, to years of of the steroids, my joints are becoming stiff, dry, and sore.  My hands, knees, and ankles are especially bad.  I tried vioxx, but was not impressed.  I am currently taking Glucosamine, and it works to a decent extent.  I have gained weight, but when I am focused I have been able to drop 100 pounds and keep about 60 of it off so far, and I am currently getting ready to step up my exercise again to get that last 40 or so off again.

I was just wondering if there was anyone out there in a simialr age group that could relate to me.  I have never met (outside a hospital) or had the chance to have a friend with anyone with CAH.  I have never felt alone or anything as my friends and family are great, but it would be nice to be able to relate to someone who knows, more specifically, what its like.

Thanks.
