re: Can I get advice on letter I wrote mother in law to babysit my SWCAH daughter?

hi sherry! these are my thoughts.....i have to start off by saying that i would have to write a letter similar if my mother in law were to watch my 7 month old swcah son too. in fact, i have  a paper on the fridge with a copy of joey’s "schedule" at all times.

as far as having to go to the er goes, dont you have a letter from your peds endo??? we have one that says what to do in case of fever, diarrhea, etc and it states what he has so if we did have to go to the ER, the ER doc would have no question. that might clear things up for your mother in law and make the letter seem a little less scary.

also, the medication part seems very clear to me. i am just wondering if those times HAVE to be quite that exact. i think straying an hour or so if the baby was still asleep due to a late nap from all the commotion would be alright.  in no way am i saying that a fever greater than 101 should not warrant a trip to the ER, but my son has had probably 3 fevers greater than 101 and did just fine with me triple dosing and watching him. i know every child is different though and your peds endo knows best.

anyway, i dont think it should be offensive to her, but i have to admit, it might frighten me a little if i were her. remember, for the majority of the time you are away (except when you are actually in active labor) i would assume you are just a phone call  away.

best of luck with your delivery. let us know how it goes :)
