Hi Louise
Jul. 20th, 2004   4:00pm

The times I have for her meds don’t have to be that exact, I just wrote it that way because my MIL tends to downplay the fact that my daughter needs the meds on time. She is supposed to get her first meds at 6am according to her schedule, but I don’t usually give them till around 7:30am. And we’ve never had a problem with that. She will get her meds late if she is napping, but she usually doesn’t nap until after the 2pm dose anways. And it’s never been more then about 2 hours late on extreme times.

The reason for the kind of letter I wrote, is because one night not too long ago when my daugther had a fever over 104 we were told by her Ped to take her to the ER. This ER is an hour away, and it’s where her specialists are. We don’t have a working car so we asked my husbands mother to take us, and ended up getting lectured over the phone by first her husband and then her because it was their anniversary and that was more important then our daughters health. They were actually telling my husband they didn’t think it was important enough to take her that far. Since then I have been paranoid about leaving my daugther in their care.

We don’t have a letter from my daughter’s peds endo, nor do we have the Solu Cortef. But I can assure you after reading many a post on this board that we will be making sure we have both those in hand when we leave her next endo appt in August. My daughters endo seems to downplay the fact that we don’t need the solu cortef, because "she is always with us".

Anyways, thank you for your opinion on the letter, I will be making some changes to it. :)
