Check with your endocrinologist who is more specialized than a ped....blood from the vein indicates electrolytes affecting the heart & will return to the heart through arteries...therefore a venous blood draw will be more accurate.  Sodium & potassium directly affect the heart...electrolytes in cells & water also affect the heart.  Be sure you check with an experienced pediatric endocrinologist.  Take care.
