JanetDAt our ped endo appointments:
1. Height, weight, blood pressure, heart rate by the nurse
2. A complete check-over by the ped -- I really mean complete, she checks everything -- eyes, ears, nose, teeth, heart, lungs, genital area, under arms for body oder.
3. We talk about any stress doses that were needed, any problems and questions, life in general. She always asks about when and how much med I am giving to Olivia (yes, the amounts are in the charts, but I always see this as a way for her to double check what her parents are doing -- she has commented before about how hard it is to get some parents to comply) The first year or so she always made a point of checking that Olivia was wearing her MedicAlert bracelet.
4. Blood work is done -- they then usually call 2.5 weeks later with the results.
I would second the idea of writing down any questions so nothing gets forgotten. Even though out doctor is very thorough, she is very efficient (a busy lady!) and it is amazing how quickly you can forget what you need to talk about.
