We had the problem with tiny baby veins.  We used to get our daughters’s labs done at the local hospital.  When we arrived they would have a pediatric oncology nurse or a nurse from NICU come down.  It worked wonders!  Also, getting labs done before the visit is a great idea.  That way you can discuss the results face to face.  Discuss with the doctor what protocol you will follow for lab results.  Get it in writing and stick to it.  Don’t be afraid to let the mommy bear that lives in you come out.  :)
