Has your son had his Andostendione level done as this gives some idea as to what 17 OHP level has been up to for 24 hours? If the dex did not suppress the 17 OHP it could be that there is an underlying cause (low grade infection etc), did he have a blood test done whilst on the dex to see if it was suppressing the 17 OHP? If your son is not the right dose as soon as the high dose of dex was stopped the 17 OHP level would just shoot up again. What time of day is the blood test done? My son has battled for several years with high 17 OHP levels and a high andostendione level, it turns out that he metabolises medication very quickly so needs 6 doses a day. Is there any chance of getting a 24 hour profile done? Good luck and I understand only too well your worry and frustration!
