KHi everyone. I’m back :) Summary: I’m a 24/f with a pituitary tumor, high levels of acth and pregnanetriol, and normal cortisol. 2 normal acth stim tests. I’m going to have petrosal sinus sampling soon to help determine if there is more acth coming from the side of my pituitary with the tumor, but this test isn’t perfectly accurate.
So I keep thinking about this pregnanetriol level which has my doctor very perplexed. Can someone please explain to me what it is? It eventually becomes cortisol, right? But first it becomes 17 hydroxy progesterone? My 17hp level is a little elevated but not much. So I found this website that talks about pregnanetriol also being related to progesterone. Can anyone explain this to me? My concern is that it could be a symptom of an ovarian tumor since my acth stim tests have been normal. I have long periods but they are regular.
Thank you for your help!
