WOW! I learn something new every day! This is amazing. And it makes me angry a bit. I want to know EVERYTHING that is invoved or can be involved with CAH. This should be explained to me by my own endocrinologist from day one. Yes it is overwhelming but so is a lot of things in life. Bonnie this helps me cope so much better knowing that IF or WHEN my daughter has under arm oder or early pubic hair ect. that it will be pretty normal. Yes I know to check with the endo. to make sure it isn’t true puberty arriving, but to actually see that this could be a side effect of these androgens makes a big difference to me. I have heard others that have had pubic hair appearing early and I couldn’t understand why their endos. said it was "normal" after reviewing their bloodwork (normal but from too many adrogens/undersuppression). My fear from my own daughter starting true puberty early comes from the thought of having to administer those Lupron shots. Do you give those daily? Wonder why they can’t give that in pill form. Or can they? I assume you give these shots daily. Am I wrong? That worries me and just the plain fact of having my daughter have to deal with a period so young. I started her late into kindergarten to give her that maturity edge, and if she starts her period early I feel she will feel a bit awkward being in the grade level she is in. Although I find she is a pretty mature for her age. Thank you so much Bonnie. This board is so helpful. We see her endocrinologist in a week for her 4 month check up.Laura
