My daughters (both SWCAH) have recieved SSI since they were 1 (now are 20 months). However, I don’t think their approval was based on the CAH. One of them is failure to thrive and is way underweight for her age and that is how she was automatically approved. The other has some developmental delays and was evaluated for those before they would approve her.

I have heard from many who have been denied their application solely on CAH. Silly if you ask me. If they were only more educated.

So sorry to hear of your loss.  Do you have other CAH children?  I would also tell your attorney to "shove it". You shouldn’t be ashamed for trying to get something to help your situation. I know on this board and others, some people feel that CAH isn’t disabling but for those of us who need the extra income to care for our kids, its of great assistance.
