My son’s weight is off the charts.

Hello everyone, My 6month old son had his physical on Monday and his weight is off the charts @ 23.2 lbs. The doc has asked me to put his on a "diet" of only 4 6-8oz. bottles a day, and than cereal/fruit for breakfast, cereal/veg for lunch and cereal/fruit for dinner, and we can start giving meat in a few weeks as well.

He will eat anything I put in front of him and still want more bottles than that. I offer him water between bottles and he want nothing to do with it and still wants bottles at night too. (every 2-3 hours sometimes)

I’ve read that cortef can increase ones appetite. He takes 12.5 mgs a day. He drinks 4 cans of formula a week plus his cereal and baby food.

Does anyone out there have such a big eater. I think he looks fine, not over weight, just very well fed. :-) I don’t want to deprive him of food if he is hungry, but I do worry a little about his weight. I know that some people with CAH struggle with their weight.

Any input please, thanks!
