My deepest sympathy for you also. Mine 7yrs swcah has come close a couple of times also.  That’s why I think it is so important to get in touch with your EMS personnel in your area let them meet  your child/children and give them the information from  your endo. I have done this. Also I think that the CAH Community should lobby as well or contact whoever we need to in are states to get the solu-cortef on there list of meds. They carry insulin etc.  Just what I’m trying to do.
