Interesting.  It sounds like she may have had a small cell lung cancer. Small cell is a fast growing cancer...very aggressive.

I had small cell ovarian cancer with hypercalcemia.  It is very rare and very deadly.  It’s referred to as a low prognosis cancer blah blah blah.  This past July 28th marked one year of survival for me since my surgery.  I had surgery and chemo.  There is currently "no evidence of disease".   YEEHAA!

It is sad that her family would not let her children in to see her. Perhaps she wanted them to remember her as a strong, healthy woman?  As to her not having radiation or chemo.....  I don’t know that I would ever do chemo again.  It’s a very fine line with chemo... how to kill the cancer without killing the patient... many people die from the chemo. Many people live because of the chemo. Chemo is nasty nasty nasty NASTY.
