Dear Jennifer, I haven’t responded to any of your posts because I do not know you, have never spoken to you and know nothing about you except you have CAH and that it makes you feel like you are "different" and that you seem to believe having CAH is bad.  I decided to reply to this one because I feel it necessary to say something in response to all the messages you are posting. and I speak only for myself here.  The fact that you have CAH does make you special, it does require you to take care of your self by taking medication, getting blood tests, etc.  It may require uncomfortable explanations to lovers, teachers, friends and family.  I have to say that as a parent of an 11 yr old SWCAH daughter entering puberty(a stage where you are so awkwardly unsure of yourself anyway) this negativity is disturbing.  We try and teach our daughter that she is special and she is different and that there is nothing wrong with being special and different. We are all different!!!!  Even twins are different!  No one is the same!  She is learning about herself physically and emotionally,  learning that all people are not the same and all our bodies are not the same, and that peoples lives take them all over the place to do all sorts of things, some have bigger or smaller problems, some people are sick, some well, some happy, some sad...etc.. I’d like her to be able to come to this board, of all boards out there and see that because she has CAH she is special and that being "different" as you refer to it is not a negative!  I would sure hate for her to start thinking that she is "not right" because someone else (not to mention a fellow CAH’er) sees it as being so awful.  You may want to consider some personal counseling.  If my daughter was where you are at I would definitely take her to someone so that she can be reassured that she is beautiful, she is God’s child and that nothing is wrong with being "different" aka: having CAH.
