sneaking food

Has anyone experienced a child with CAH sneaking food?  My 4 year old SWCAH son seems to be hungry ALL the time.  He is constantly asking for food.  We try and monitor what he eats so that we know he is eating the right foods and we try not to be so strict that the "wrong" foods become more appealing.  He is very active and I would not consider him heavy but I do worry that someday he may have weight problems.  He is very solid 4 year old.  He currently weighs about 47 pounds.  Again, he is thin but very solid.

Lately, I have caught him sneaking food from the pantry in the middle of the day (cereal bars, fruit snacks, etc.).  This morning, I came down for breakfast and the refrigerator door was wide open.  Sometime in the middle of the night, he went down, dragged a chair over and helped himself to a yogurt.  He never moved the chair back which is the only reason the door wouldn’t shut and he got caught.  This has me seriously concerned and I don’t know if I am just being a worry wart.  He goes to the endo next week so I will be curious to see what his levels are at.  We also get the results of his latest bone x-ray.  The last one was taken 18 months ago and he had the bones of an 8 year old (at 3).  That is when he was diagnosed.

Any thoughts/suggestions/stories you could share would be GREATLY appreciated.

Thanks,

Kristin
