Hi Jennifer,

How are you and what did you do that was new in your life today or this past week???  I never considered my daughter having CAH/saltwasting a blessing either.  The blood tests were more painful for me to watch than for her to get.  The medication adjustments were mindboggling and I hate the fact that she died from this illness along with a flu virus.  What my daughter taught me was that you are the only person who can make yourself happy each and every day.  As long as you can find something each day to be thankful for, the wind or swimming in the pool, and not letting things get to you, then you’ll be fine.  My daughter never talked about her illness and I really never talked to her friends or their parents about it, either.  It was really not their business and if she were sick she’d call me.  Nobody, except people involved in her health care really knew there was anything "different" about her.  So, you really don’t have to think of yourself as different, ...everyone is different in some way...we want straight hair, blonde hair, taller, thinner, more curves(girls) whatever.  Enjoy the person you are and all the good you can do, even if it’s small kind things.  You are one of a kind.  Just you and God loves you the way you are.
