WE, too found our about the solucortef from this site. I was furious. It took many visits but our old endo finally gave in. He related same excuses as yours. It was enough to prompt us to find a better endo. We found one. Our first appt. she asked if we had the shot and knew how/when to use it. She agrees that we know more about CAH than ER personnel and agrees that the shot helps keep our daughter out of the ER where there are many germs. WE give the shot first and then call the endo who usually says that if fluid lose is not an issue we can STAY HOME! My advice to you is find another endo. You must because it is extremely important that you carry the shot at all times. As for not being able to get it....we just recently got a 2 vial prescription the NEXT DAY. We are in California. I hope that insurance will let you switch endos because the shot can save your child’s life. I’m sure you’ve thought of all the what ifs....scary. Good luck, Julia
