ToniaSherry,
I am INFURIATED!!!!!! I have been where you are. When my 8 year old was born the endo didn’t think it was necessary for us to have the solu-cortef shot. I soon discovered that was not so. I actually sat in his office one day with my baby until someone wrote me a script and taught me how to inject it. Then I fired him. That was it. I don’t want to scare you BUT this is a life threatening condition. In June my daughter became so ill I injected her with no improvement and called an ambulance. Later her endo told me I SAVED HER LIFE! Your daugter’s endo has no right to withhold solu-cortef from you. You must get it today and know how and when to use it! I would drop that doctor like a bad habit. I know you must have so much on your plate with the new baby coming but you have to find a way. Where do you live? Maybe one of us can help you! Let me know if you need anything! I’m an email or a phone call away!
Oh and as for the shortage of solu-cortef- you can find it. You just need a bit of perseverance and patience. A hospital pharmacy is a great place to get it. They should have reserves for your daughter. If they don’t that would be a good conversation to have with them when you pick up your solu-cortef!
Good luck!
Tonia
