Endo visit . . . horrific & grand
Aug. 5th, 2004   12:51pm

Well, we finally had Loghyn’s first visit with her new Endo yesterday (Dr. Selma Witchel at Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA).  Here’s how it went.

Any of you who have been to CHP would know that nothing every runs on schedule . . . so . . . we got there at 8:10 a.m. (about 1/2 hour before her appt).  We were seen into the exam room by 8:20 a.m. . .. I was AMAZED!!  I thought "Gee, we’ll be out of here in no time!!"  Well, at about 8:40 a resident came in, gathered all of his info & said that Dr. Witchel would be in in a few mins as well.  We sat . . . & sat . . . & sat . . . & played with a 16 mth old SWCAH baby who was getting VERY anxious!!!  Finally, at about 9:50 . . . an HOUR later!!! . . . Dr Witchel came in with 4 . . . yes count them . . . 4 residents.  All 5 of them, my husband, the baby, and me all crammed into this tiny little exam room!!  haha!!  Well, that part was funny anyway!!  Not the 1-1/2 hours we waited . . . but we liked Dr. Witchel anyway.  She was great . . . very thorough & nice.

Anyway . . . although the visit itself was horrific, Loghyn’s doing very well.  Her labs came back great, although we decided she’s probably a little over-suppressed, so we’re lowering her dosage of prednisone.  So the outcome was grand!!

Later!
