re: Timing of Labs
Aug. 6th, 2004   3:20pm

Timing does matter.  Dosing matters too.

All the endos we have seen have told us to take the blood when the lab opens before the morning dose.  For not only consistency but when the highest level results would show up.  Also, we have been told not to have the blood drawn until there have been 10 days solid of no double or triple dosing.  Not sure why on that one because it is only supposed to last in the body for 8 hours but I have read that on the board here too.

We used to freak out about not being the first people in line at the lab (my husband and I would even both go so he could run up the stairs while we took the elevator when they opened the doors!) but it isn’t that crucial.  We just gave the dose whenever she was done (has taken up to three hours after her morning dose at 6:00 am) and all has been well thus far.

Take care,
