Low body temp is a question for your pediatric endocrinologist, who is specialized in this field.  Your pediatrician does not have the knowledge of your ped endo, so I would rely further on a pediatric endo to treat your son, especially when he’s this young.  Maybe you could get a referral to a ped endo closer to you or you could move closer to a ped endo whose expertise you’re comfortable with.  (depending on your job situation)  Is NS  Nova Scotia???  There are some excellent clinics and hospitals in Canada...the booklet I was given was originally from Somewhere in Canada.  The liquid hydrocortisone is available at the hospital and ems.  However, ems claims they need doctor’s orders, some ems vehicles claim they don’t have to carry specialized meds like solu cortef, most are not trained to deal with your baby in a crisis.  Our daughter died because ems was not prepared and we too, live 5 minutes away from the hospital. Please find a pharmacy who carries the liquid hydrocortisone, or you can get it from the hospital if you ask your pediatric endo to write the prescript.  I am still surprised to see that doctors don’t demand their patients to have this emergency medicine and write it for them instead of the parents having to request it to be written.  Insurance coverage and educating your ems dept are another issue we have to deal with.  Good luck to you.
