I agree with Julia, I  have 2 SW boys 5 and 8,  I give the solu-cortef shot anytime they vomit.  I had the same experience with both of my boys (you think I would have learned the first time) of not being able to wake them from sleep after what I would call a mild illness.  I wake my kids if they are sick and give oral meds and a fever reducer in the middle of the night, I also give some juice, as part of the problem when they are sick is low blood sugar.  I came up with this plan, not really what my Dr. suggests, but it works for us.  NO trips to the hospital etc....
