I had the same problem when my daughter was younger. Now she takes Cortef 3 times daily 6 am, 2 pm, and 10 pm--which she goes to bed @ 9 so for the past 3 years I have gave it to her then.  She has done fine but I also make sure I give her morning meds on time or no later than 7 am.  This has work so well with my family including her.
